Los Angeles, CA– Multi-talented entertainer and philanthropist Sheryl Underwood has signed a multi-year deal with The Juice 107.3 (Toledo, Ohio) for Sheryl Underwood Radio. Sheryl, and her on-air crew, recently launched Sheryl Underwood in the Afternoon, airing during drive time, 3p -7p ET. The show debuted to phenomenal reviews, with the online audience breaking significant tracking records, causing the website to crash. Officials say they’ve never seen this kind of response to programming. With the success of the on-air debut of Sheryl Underwood in the Afternoon the show was renamed Sheryl Underwood Radio and a multi-year deal was inked, with the entire crew remaining together. The Executive Producer for the show is radio industry veteran Vic Frost.
And as her star continues to rise, Underwood recently signed a representation agreement with William Morris Endeavor (WME). WME is the world’s largest diversified talent and literary agency, with offices in Beverly Hills, New York City, London, Miami and Nashville.
According to Underwood, “This has been an unforgettable summer – preparing for radio and television, with the new season of The Talk (on CBS) coming back on September 9th. – I am excited to work with my girls from The Talk and my crew on The Juice. I am also happy to announce the Pack Rat Foundation for Education. Through the foundation we will raise money to support education, especially Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). I am passionate about education and recently joined the board of Benedict College. So everything that is happening will allow me to continue working to raise money for education, utilizing radio and television to raise funds for the greater good.”
Known as one of the hardest working women in entertainment, TV One is producing an episode on Underwood for their signature program Unsung Hollywood. The show will feature Underwood along with Flip Wilson, Robin Harris, Cooley High, What’s Happening and others.
According to station owner W. Charles Welch, “Our agreement with Sheryl Underwood Radio is a God sent situation. We felt this was a great direction for us, and it’s already working. I am truly excited.” Underwood adds, “We understand the changing landscape of radio and know that there is enough room for us and all of our friends.”
Sheryl Underwood Radio is an all-access pass to entertaining and enlightening conversations covering relationships, entertainment, sports and hot topics. The show’s debut kicked off with interviews with celebrities Marques Houston, Ron Isley, T-Pain and K Michelle. Show officials say lots exciting interviews are to come. Sheryl Underwood Radio now has a dedicated phone line, 855-Sheryl-1, which gives people all over the country the opportunity to interact with the show. The dedicated line is part of a multi-faceted strategy for allowing listeners to engage with the show.
