TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – Talk-show host and comedian Sheryl Underwood is in the Glass City to debut her new radio show.
It’s ‘Afternoons with Sheryl Underwood’ on The Juice 107.3.
“This is not just for black people. This is for everybody to enjoy great radio,” Underwood said.
Program Director Charlie Mack says the show is not going to be a typical afternoon show. They will cover topics ranging from entertainment to politics. The hope is for the show to start in Toledo and expand to other cities.
“A lot of shows are based out of a lot of different cities, but we’re going to do all the pre-production from here,” Mack said.
Underwood may be recognized from CBS’s The Talk. She says her new show will keep her busy, but she’s not missing a beat.
“I’m not leaving The Talk,” she said. “We’re already putting together the equipment that’s going to be at CBS while I’m doing The Talk, so we don’t want to misrepresent anything to anybody. We will be here.”
Toledo Mayor Mike Bell stopped by the station to welcome Underwood to the city.
Underwood has signed a multi-year contract with The Juice 107.3. To catch the show, tune in Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m.
